Hey Everyone!
Did you know that Friday, October 16th is National Feral Cat Day? It's a day meant to raise awareness about feral cats as well as recognize the importance of spaying and neutering. You can read more about Feral Cat Day at the Alley Cat Allies website.
Here in NWA, the Northwest Arkansas Animal Rescue does a lot of work to care for stray and feral cats, including raising money for a mobile spay/neuter clinic, fostering homeless animals and finding those animals forever homes. I recently received an e-mail from Amanda Bell of Northwest Arkansas Animal Rescue with some pictures of feral cat condos made from old styrofoam coolers. NWAAR will be meeting on October 29th so that Amanda can demonstrate how to make these homes. If you're interested in volunteering at NWAAR or have old stryofoam coolers that you would like to donate to create winter housing for feral cats, contact NWAAR at 479-439-7978 or spaynwa@yahoo.com. Please make sure that your old coolers are large enough for at least one cat! If you'd like more information on NWAAR visit their website.
