Food and Wine Yappie Hour

Hi All!

Tuesday was Food and Wine Yappie Hour at Bigwag. We gave out samples of Taste of the Wild, Canidae and Solid Gold dog foods, each paired with a Bark Vineyards fine canine wine (made of broth and veggies, great for putting over the food of picky eaters). Of course the canned Canidae was the hit of the night. It's hard to find a dog that turns down canned food - although you need to be careful with canned foods as they are generally lower in protein and higher in fat which means that your dog will love them, but will tend to eat more to be satisfied, which means they'll likely gain weight. Plus, soft foods can reek havoc on teeth, because there's nothing to remove tartar with chewing. But for an occaisional treat, soft foods can be a nice change. The Barkundy wine was the most popular of the night, perhaps because it's a beef broth rather than a salmon or chicken. Has the beef industry won over our dogs as well? At any rate, it was a fun evening and I hope all the dogs enjoyed the night out!
